Day 21 18.3.23 Christchurch

Today is a rest day. Jumped on a bus this morning to go to the airport to pick up a car. Bus was 15 minutes late and we had to walk 2.3 kms to the car hire depot 🤦‍♀️

Bus stop across from our unit. Andrea and Mark waving us off.
We have this hire car for 7 days. We head off tomorrow to the west coast.
Went for another meander around town.

After lunch and a nap we dropped Andrea and Mark off at the Novotel Hotel. They are flying home early tomorrow morning.
On the way back from dropping A&M off we parked up and went for a walk. We ended up having a coffee (first and only one for the day) and a wander around the botanical gardens.
We found a great information area.

The peace rose. So many beautiful roses I put them in a collage.

We have changed rooms today as we wanted to stay an extra day. Christchurch is very busy this weekend.  There's a Polynesian festival and a sailing Grand Prix.
A new view.

Todays temperature 11-20° There's a cold wind blowing so we're going to have a quiet night in so we can get away early tomorrow. We've walked 8+ kms.
7.23pm and the sun is thinking about going to bed.

Apparently there was a couple of earthquakes this afternoon around the Christchurch area but we didn't feel anything. There has also been numerous quakes on the north island.
7.50pm. Too much cloud forming for a decent sunset.
