Wowsers what a huge day.
We jumped on a glass roof coach at 7.30am, toured down to Milford Sound stopping at a few lookouts on the way, stopped at the town of Te Anau (pronounced Tea Are Now) and enjoyed a 2 hr cruise on the water. Didn't get back until 8pm.
There will be a mega load of photos today.
Murals by the bus stop.Lake Wakatipu. We have now travelled from one end, Glenorchy, to the other, Kingston, some 80 kms long.
On the round about in Te Anau.
We drove through plains, scrub and forest areas.
Filling water bottles from a glacier stream.
Homer tunnel
Our vessel for the cruise.
View out the back of the boat of the Tasman sea. We went out into the sea for a bit. It was undulating!
Andrea and I.
Every where you looked was amazing.
We spotted a couple of pods of bottle nosed dolphins but I wasn't quick enough to get more than a portion of a fin on the above photo. The video below shows how close they came, with 1 swimming directly under the back of the boat where I was standing.
The water spray was very strong. I ventured out and got wet.
Felt like I was going to be blown over board.
Andrea stuck her head out the door for a very quick selfie.
Mark joined in too.I was expecting to see a lot more snow.
Lady Bowen Falls again.
