Up at 6am this morning. It's still dark and 3°. The sunrise isn't until 7.27.
We're being picked up at 7.30 and driven to the town of Clyde where out rail trail journey begins.
The scenery on the drive to Clyde was lovely. There was a dusting of snow fall on Saturday night.
We opted to take the scenic, longer route through Clyde and along the river.
A VERY narrow path. The bikes only just fitted.
The bridge to Alexandra.
Brunch was had in Alexandra.
More snow.
Chatto Creek for refreshments.
Turned off the trail to take a 2km ride to Ophir, our destination for the night.
Booked a table for dinner.
We are staying at the Bakery Cottages.
Lots of stone buildings.
Inside the pub.
Today I'm glad we went with the ebike option. While the most of the 55kms we rode was pretty good the first 20ish kms was challenging for me and I used the boost button on the bike a few times to get up some steep gravel/sandy sections.
Top temp today was 21°
